Digital Earth Pacific (DE Pacific) is an Earth observation system that leverages decades of satellite data to track changes in local environments, such as landcover and land use, aiding in humanitarian assistance post-disasters, mapping coastline changes due to climate impacts, and monitoring mangrove growth without manual efforts. The program aims to enhance the safety, prosperity, food security of Pacific Islands communities while promoting the region's and Earth's health. Serving as a free and open digital infrastructure, DE Pacific allows for efficient environmental change analysis at a significantly lower cost compared to previous systems. Its goal is to deliver "decision-ready" data for ensuring food security and clean water access, enabling member states of the Pacific Community (SPC) to make well-informed decisions based on timely information.
