Summary
Frontline healthcare workers dealing with COVID-19 patients face critical decision points, and ICTworks has developed a technology to convert complex medical protocols into point-of-care decision support. The project identifies four key algorithm targets: assessing patients' risk of deterioration, standardized assessments for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), treatment options, and guidance for patients with negative COVID tests but high suspicion of infection. Demonstrations have been created for the first two targets, while narratives are provided for the others. This initiative underscores the importance of disseminating trusted information and seeks partnerships to improve medical protocols for COVID-19 and future outbreaks. The goal is to establish flexible algorithms that aid in the testing, treatment, and prevention of emerging infectious diseases, particularly focusing on communicable diseases.
