Summary
Healthcare professionals (HCPs) in African and low- to middle-income countries (LMICs) encounter significant obstacles in ongoing education and skill development, a situation exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Medical Learning Hub (MLH) addresses these challenges by offering online learning opportunities that eliminate geographical barriers. HCPs can enhance their skills through live classes, self-paced courses, and easily accessible resources across multiple devices. This approach reduces travel needs and costs, ultimately improving patient care quality. Additionally, MLH is working on peer-to-peer discussion forums to encourage community interaction and collaboration among HCPs. A new conference function facilitates live training and better organization of educational materials, further enriching the learning experience. The focus areas for healthcare include communicable diseases.
