Summary
The USAID-funded SHOPS Plus project in Nigeria has developed on-demand audio job aids for family planning providers, specifically targeting community health extension workers (CHEWs) who often lack access to smartphones and Wi-Fi. Collaborating with Viamo and using the 3-2-1 platform through the Airtel network, CHEWs can access crucial family planning messages via basic phones. The interactive system includes 38 validated key messages on diverse topics, with approximately 35,000 health messages accessed monthly. The content, created in partnership with local experts and organizations, is free for Airtel SIM card users, promoting sustainability and a continued emphasis on community health education, particularly in Sexual and Reproductive Health.
